Srating to sketch character

As you can see I can't draw really well but I need to do some sketches of the character and as well the place I choose to tell my story.
at the beggini I tought to do a story about this little girl where she educate kids How combine colour and specially with her magic brush she could colour the world to make it more fun and colourful.
After few tried with illustrator I wasn't happy about the result, with shorts arms and legs I found difficult to make it in movement so I had a body and longer arms and legs.
I choose two colours at the moment, as in class with did some workshop with only red and blue as Rachel (project tutor and Director of OKIDO magazine) does in her work. It makes the character more simple, natural and easy for children to remember.
Adding some more specific accessorize I think it looks pretty good as first sketch. I didn't think yet of a story. But to me could look like a Alfo with possibly magic power.Experimenting with Illustrator 3D effect

OKIDO Project

New Project in LCC!!!

The Brief:

This project revolves around investigating a given theme and creating characters for a

children friendly audience. You will also be asked to situate this character within a story

context/format.

You will undertake a series of weekly practical workshops led by Rachel Ortas on Tuesdays

where you will explore mark-making, colour, materials and storytelling amongst other things.

Darren will lead small group seminars and tutorials on Fridays further exploring the material

generated during the workshops, applying some useful theory in character development and

looking at how characters can be applied in various contexts.

During the first session you will be allocated a theme to research and use as the basis of your

character design.

You will then also design a short story to show how your character works and communicates

this theme in a format of your own choice.
